“The 20th International Exhibition on Shoes & Leather Industry” (Shoes & Leather – Guangzhou 2010) was held from 1 to 3 June 2010 at China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex Area B.  The resounding success of the show reaffirms its role as ideal and outstanding platform for the promotion of footwear and leather industry.

Shoes & Leather Guangzhou 2010 attracted a record 875 exhibitors, of which 70% from raw materials, 30% from Machinery, coming from 23 countries and regions, including Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, HK SAR, India, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and USA.

The trade fair was surrounded by a positive atmosphere, a total of 36,000 trade visitors recorded during the 3 – day exhibition, 86% (31,067) of the visitors came from Mainland China and 14% (4,933) came from the overseas were recorded, apart from China, the five most representative countries were Brazil, India, Italy, Japan and Korea.  At the same time, there were an increase numbers of ASEAN visitors.  The exhibition had occupied an area of 50,000 sqm, a total of four halls located on the same floor, the clear division of the fair enables participants to look for their desire products more effectively and efficiently.  

The well attended two informative technical seminars hosted by SATRA and China Leather & Footwear Industry Research Institute provided information on new technologies, concepts and services in the field of leather.  Up and coming styling trends and functional aspects for footwear and leather were centre stage at the “Trend Walk”, displayed products fully revealed the future trends by new materials, components and finished products.  Also located in “Trend Walk”, The International Footwear Design Competition 2010 were another highlight activities, with 167 winning entries from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippine.
